Hottentot Fig (Carpobrotus edulis)

Also known as Ice Plants, is a fast-spreading succulent groundcover known for its thick, fleshy leaves and bright daisy-like flowers. Commonly used for erosion control and coastal landscapes.


Water Requirements: Low. Highly drought tolerant; water sparingly once established.

Soil: Well-draining, sandy or rocky soil; tolerates poor soil.

Growth Rate: Fast.

Bloom Time: Spring to summer.

Temperature: Excellent heat tolerance; mild frost tolerance.
