Dracaena marginata (Madagascar Dragon Tree)

Is a tropical evergreen plant valued for its slender stems and narrow, arching foliage with distinctive red margins. Commonly used as an indoor specimen, patio container plant, or tropical accent in warm climates, it provides strong vertical interest and a modern architectural look in residential and commercial landscapes.  

Water Requirements: Low to moderate. Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings; water regularly during the first growing season, then as needed. Avoid overwatering.

Soil: Well-draining soil. Performs best in light, well-aerated potting mixes but adapts to sandy soils with proper drainage.

Growth Rate: Slow to moderate.

Bloom Time: Rarely blooms in cultivation; may produce small fragrant flowers under ideal conditions.

Temperature: Hardy in USDA Zones 10–11. Prefers warm temperatures and may be damaged below 50°F (10°C).

Pruning: Minimal. Remove damaged leaves and trim stems to control height or encourage branching.

Toxicity: Toxic to pets if ingested.
