Coreopsis Tickseed

Coreopsis spp. (Coreopsis / Tickseed)

Is a hardy, flowering perennial valued for its bright, daisy-like blooms and long flowering season. Commonly used in borders, mass plantings, and native or pollinator gardens, it provides continuous color and attracts butterflies and beneficial insects. Its durability and low maintenance make it ideal for residential and commercial landscapes. 

Water Requirements: Low to moderate. Drought tolerant once established; water regularly during the first growing season, then as needed.

Soil: Well-draining soil. Performs best in sandy or loamy soils; highly tolerant of poor soils and does not require high fertility.

Growth Rate: Moderate.

Bloom Time: Spring through fall; produces abundant daisy-like flowers.

Temperature: Hardy in USDA Zones 4–10 (varies by species). Excellent heat tolerance; cold hardy once established.

Pruning: Minimal. Deadheading encourages continuous blooming; cut back periodically to maintain a tidy appearance.

Toxicity: Not considered toxic to people or pets.
