Simpson Showstopper

Simpson’s stopper (Myrcianthes fragrans) 

An evergreen shrub or small tree that occurs naturally in coastal strands and hammocks. 

Water Requirements: Moderate. Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.

Soil: Prefers well-draining soil; tolerates sandy, loamy, and slightly acidic soils.

Growth Rate: Moderate to fast.

Bloom Time: Typically blooms from summer to fall, producing small white fragrant flowers.

Temperature: Thrives in warm climates; not frost tolerant and may need protection in cooler zones.

Pruning: Light pruning recommended to maintain shape and promote bushier growth. Can also be used as a hedge.

Toxicity: Not toxic.
